Build a business, don't do it alone!
To be honest with you, I am pretty tired of the daily grinds. The working 8 hours shifts and trading time for money, while others build fortunes and luxury life styles on my back! I think to myself, "this is why I went to school, just to land an hourly job that pays me $50,000 a year, while working for someone who doesn't know who I am or care about what I might want?"
More than this though, I am tired of thinking so small! Limiting myself to "this is all I will ever be" or "this is as good as it gets". My mentality needs a shift, and my passions, dreams and desires are pushing me to the brink!
I thought that an education would be the ultimate in preparation for being successful. My education taught me to work hard and to find a job that would match my studies, capabilities and resume. I value my education, the time and people, and life lessons learned. What my education did not teach was how to work for myself, and how to be successful at it.
You see, I want to experience financial freedom and to pay off my debt. I want to have flexibility with time to be with my family and to invest in my passions! I want the freedom in location, to work and play from where ever I am! I cannot do this as an employee of someone else. I must become my own boss.
Then the question becomes, what do I do? What business could I possibly start? I don't know, this is all so new. Thankfully, there are resources out there to guide us through these uncertainties.
Success has seemed a daunting and unscalable mountain to even attempt in the past. Now, I am taking bold action to follow someone else's footsteps up that same mountain. Why? Because the potential is there, and my journey is not over. There is so much still to learn and achieve!
What do you want? That's what I have to ask myself. The answer has become simple: I want financial freedom and freedom of time. I also want to help others who are like minded to experience the same freedom. Does that sound like you?
For me, its not about the finish, but the process and the people I will meet along the way. I cannot make this climb alone, and I am not alone, because I have found the right mentor and support for the task.
