Military Spouse and mother who needs support

Hi! My name is Mary. I have been looking for a stay at home, make your own hours type of job since I married my husband 11 years ago. We move every 3 years due to a different military assignment. We have lived in Indiana, South Carolina (my 4 year old was born there), Florida, New Jersey (my 2 year old was born there, and now we’re in North Carolina. I’m from Portland, OR, and have been away from any family for 12 years. What makes being a military spouse the most difficult is being alone and starting over every 3 years. I don’t know anyone and have a difficult time getting to know others and making friends. When I’ve applied for jobs in the past, I have been turned down because they are looking for someone who will be there more than 3 years. I have started school at 3 different Universities trying to Finish my bachelors Degree, but it’s difficult with 2 toddlers. I suffer from severe depression and anxiety which makes it difficult to get out there and host parties, sell products, and meet people. I am just now starting the process of exiting the Army National Guard myself. I served 10 years, and know that it’s the right thing to do for my children. My 2 year old was just diagnosed with cancer in March (neuroblastoma) when he was 15 months old. Having the flexibility of a stay at home will make it much easier to ensure that he’s taken care of.
