Is Rejection Good For You??

Hey Friend, most people DETEST the idea of "rejection"... right? 

The truth is that many of us Network Marketers have never learned to develop our "self confidence"... and become the kind of people that it takes to be successful in this business.

Just the idea of calling a lead out of the blue and delivering a 30 second invitation to set an appointment causes many of us to instantly feel sick to our stomachs.

There were times when I have been really pumped to pick up the phone, but when the moment came to actually do it, EVERYTHING changed.

I found any and everything else to do instead of dialing the numbers that can get prospects looking at my business.

The fact that "choosing to walk away" leads to the "instant gratification" of the nervous feeling going away makes it the most popular option.

FEAR made me give up before I even started.

Can you relate?

ACTUAL REJECTION VS THE FEAR OF REJECTION...

I think it's important to realize that there's a BIG difference between ACTUAL rejection (having a prospect who is offended, upset, rude, etc. to you when you start talking to them) and the FEAR of rejection (how you feel when you imagine that person rejecting you).

I've found that for me, my FEAR of rejection was actually FAR more painful and difficult to deal with than ACTUAL rejection in the real world.

When I think about it, the worst I've had is a prospect saying it is a bad time to speak and hanging up before I could say another word.

No yelling or cursing or anything like that.

But here's the kicker...

You can experience an intense FEAR of rejection EVERY time you consider approaching a prospect.

Imagine something you can predict with almost perfect accuracy.

You can be in any situation, anytime, anywhere, and still have FEAR of rejection...which will prevent you from approaching a prospect.

Ah, the power of the human mind.

What I learned was, the more times I approached or called prospects and started conversations the more I saw that people usually responded positively.

This led to a positive feedback loop of me wanting to approach and call more prospects, leading to more success.

Here are a few ideas for overcoming your own FEAR of rejection:

1) Practice saying your script for 30 minutes per day. The more natural you sound the less likely you will be hung up on.

2) Make 20 phone calls today. If you are still nervous, start with leaving your script on answering machines.

3) Write out all the benefits a prospect will have by joining or buying from you. They need you not the other way around.

Don’t let FEAR of rejection keep you from your destiny.
