Is it better live?

I was on a webinar earlier today, and a couple questions kept popping up.

"Is this being recorded?" ... followed by "Is this a recording?".

I don't get it.

Why in heck are so many people worried about whether or not something is being recorded?

How 'bout you pay attention now?

What if you focused on what's right in front of you for a change?

And so what if you're watching a recording?

Does it really matter?

Here's an example...

The Bible was written thousands of years ago (it's a recording)... but people still read it.

Why?

Because it's relevant to them.

The info is still good.

What about movies?

Have you ever watched a movie more than once?

I'll bet you have.

But not because it sucked.

You watched it again because you thought it was worth more of your time.

So what's with everybody asking whether or not a webinar is recorded?

In case you didn't know, I'll tell you.

It's because they think there's a difference.

They honestly believe that a recorded webinar has less "value" (an overused word if there ever was one).

It's a ridiculous idea.

The holy grail of marketing is to produce something that keeps 'em coming back for more... for as long as possible.

Everybody wants to know what works, but they don't want to see something that's been done before.

Guess why it's being done again?

BECAUSE IT WORKS!

Pretty simple, eh?

But the wannabes, noobs and lottery mentality crowd will never get it.

I suppose that's just the way of the world, but I'm tired of it.

I've been online for over 9 years now.

The scenery changes, but the plot doesn't.

Most of the lame "me-too" marketing I see is what I call "Selling the dream and living the nightmare".

That's when you see pics of Gooru X on the beach, in front of a castle or standing next to a (insert name of high-dollar foreign sports car).

But most of it's a lie.

A big joke on those who choose to follow the worthless advice... puked up garbage from successful marketing campaigns gone by.

Don't get me wrong.

There are lots of ethical marketers out there who offer some killer products and services.

The ones I'm talking about are the bottom-feeders... preying on unsuspecting people looking for a one-week fix for problems it took them years to create.

Here's the thing...

If you've been marketing online for 6 months or more with little or no results... you're missing something.

It's not the product or service... it's your methods.

Quit spinning your wheels and finally get some traction.
