Get It Done

Hey, what's up out there?

I'm gonna try a little bit of a test with audio, because Rockit took off with my Bluetooth. I'm confident that it'll work.

Today I'm going to talk about speed. Speed of implementation, speed of getting things done, making things happen quickly and less than perfect, rather than screwing around for days or weeks on end, attempting to get something exactly the way you want it. Because one, it'll take you forever.

I've seen very experienced and knowledgeable people that took far, far too long to get something up and rolling because they have to have it, you know? Perfect. Or in real good... they want to get things a certain way, and I'm like, "Dude, get that thing out there. What? What are you waiting for? How much better are you going to, are you going to make it? And well, it really didn't work.

Lots of people, they can't do it. What I'm telling you is, your objective is to get things done as quickly as possible and adjust as you go along. First of all, no plan survives contact with the enemy. Nothing's going to work out the way you expect it to. All kinds of things will show up at different times. There's nothing you can do about it. So roll with it. Get that thing done.

For instance, I'm setting up new websites and pages right now, and I had a problem with my hosting. I've got a problem with the links, and all these things are happening. But the fact is, I can set up these pages on a different server, and they got an ugly URL. They got an ugly website, numbers and letters and who cares? The person that I'm talking to is not going to care what that link looks like. Hell, half the time you bury it under a hyperlink anyway where it says click here and they never see the link. Doesn't matter what matters is what is on the page when they get there, and how fast that page loads.

So I'm looking at this thing, my hosting came up and I'm thinking, "Well I could do this and that cause there's really nothing on it right now." And my brain's like, don't dude, don't... what are you doing? You're not spending your time on something that's going to make you any money. You are not spending time on something that's going to get you in contact with a group of people. If you've got your capture page and your lead magnet or your bribe, whatever you want to call it, all set up and ready to go, you can work on the emails daily after you get people on your list.

You can tweak the offer in the future as time goes by. But if you got something out there in front of people and they go to the page, they didn't like it, they didn't buy, but they're still on your email list. You're still talking to them. You're still making videos or doing a podcast, whatever it is that you do, and they're in your group.

And the information is what's important. It's a good guy said, well, you know, let's say you're hanging in a bar and you're talking to Jessica Alba or whoever, and she writes down her phone number with lipstick on a dirty gin soaked napkin. Do you care that it's written in this awful place and on this soggy napkin? Hell No. You got the number, man. You're rolling. So the same thing applies to everything you do. Ugly almost always wins when it comes to the web. And it's the information that matters. Not necessarily having all the flash and glitz on the page.

So if someone has a challenge that they need solved, and they're looking to you to offer them the information that they need to get done, what they gotta get done, trust me, they are not going to give a rip one way or another who you are, where you came from, what you look like, what the page looks like. All they want to know is, can you help me fix this problem, and get it done as quickly as possible.

If you could do that, they're in. So don't waste time making things perfect. Spend your time knocking stuff out and get in and out there and then tweak it as you go.
