SETTING PERSONAL AND BUSINESS GOALS - PART ONE

Goal Setting
What is the definition of goal setting? It is the process of deciding what you want to accomplish and devising a plan to achieve the result you desire. For entrepreneurs, goal setting is an important part of business planning.

But for effective goal setting, you need to do more than just decide what you want to do; you also have to work at accomplishing whatever goal you have set for yourself. This means you have to create a plan so your work gets you where you want to go.

Focus more on “goal setting”
One thing you should keep in mind, you absolutely must focus on your “goal setting” because if you’re not setting goals for yourself, then how are you planning to achieve these goals, without a plan. And if you don’t set goals, how will you be able to measure yourself to see whether you are coming close to achieving your goals or not?

In addition, along with goal setting comes the creation of daily, monthly and annual action steps, which will help you to achieve your goals. Once your goals and action steps have been outlined, then you must follow them consistently as scheduled, or you will not reach your final goal(s). You see, you have to be accountable to yourself. if not, then it will not produce positive results for you.

Personal Accountability Program
A personal accountability program means that you have to devise a plan by which you will consistently monitor yourself to see if you’re coming close to achieving your goals. If not, then you’ll have to make some changes to your action steps, so that you can obtain your target goal(s).

For many people, goal setting can be problematic. They know what they want to do and they're perfectly willing to work on it, but they have trouble creating a plan to get there. But if by some fluke, you do the right thing at the right time, the undirected effort might help you to accomplish what you want to do. But usually, it doesn’t, and then because you’re not getting any results, you quit working at whatever it is and give up whatever goal you’ve set. Sound familiar? So for successful goal setting, the first thing you have to do is close the gap between the end result you want and where you are now with a plan.
