Karatbars Brings out Innovation: New Smartphone Based on Blockchains
The Karatbars group around Dr. h.c. Harald Seiz now offers a crypto mobile phone: the IMpulse K1 phone. The core function – and main differentiating feature to almost all smartphones – is the extremely secure data transmission via blockchain and end-to-end encryption. After several years of development work, a completely new smartphone concept has emerged – with an innovative communication system, the VOICE OVER BLOCKCHAIN PROTOCOL (VOBP). Interested parties can order the smartphone from April 2019 and receive it from October 2019. It was developed by CryptoDATA and contains five different security options. An infinite number of user accounts are possible and the cloud storage space is unlimited.
The smartphone operates on the basis of particularly secure, decentralised block-chain technology. It serves all G formats in classic mobile telephony and data traffic. Whether instant messenger, voice and video calls or money transfer – everything runs via P2P (peer-to-peer) blockchain encryption. The device – and thus the data – is additionally protected by a physical private key that is inserted into the telephone without which the smartphone cannot function. The user configures it in such a way that the phone can only be unlocked using a face ID, fingerprint and password/PIN. All user data (conversation, photos, documents, movies, music) are stored in the blockchain and can only be accessed with the private key. Such a security hardware dongle – a proven technology – no longer exists in the consumer sector. Here the K1 has a unique selling point.
The product, which will start from 1,250 euros, is particularly aimed at customers with a high need for security. In addition, blockchain-affine users are in the focus and people who are on the move worldwide and need to be reachable at all times even outside of mobile radio regions. Until September 2019, the smartphone can also be ordered with satellite telephony.

Seiz continues: “‘Privacy is the new Order’ is our motto. Data security has the highest priority’. In order to achieve this, our developers and engineers have developed knowledge from various disciplines: astronomy, mathematics, quantum physics, telecommunications, psychology, sociology and the functioning of financial systems. A highly complex encryption of the transmitted data based on innovative algorithms ensures that the mobile phone cannot be hacked. In addition, the matrix used for encryption changes the blockchain every ten minutes. Our protection system “WORM SHIELD” protects against theft and loss of the device and was specially developed for the IMpulse K1-Phone.”
In addition to the number of his SIM card, the owner can define and use an infinite number of other numbers/accounts. Of course, there are also apps for the system. However, the available applications (voice/video call, instant messenger, camera, wallet) are limited to those that use the secure P2P telecommunications protocol with end-to-end encryption or are available on the APP Store. An unlimited amount of data can be stored in a blockchain cloud.
The new smartphone complements the crypto universe of Karatbars with its two crypto currencies Karatgold Coin (KBC) and KaratCoinBank Coin (KCB). Seiz concludes: “The new smartphone serves as a high-performance management platform and masterkey for the entire K-Universe, especially for payment transactions and trading in our gold products. It is the wallet of the future, a virtual and material wallet at the same time. Transactions with digital and real goods are thus possible from anywhere in the world, and highly secure.”
