The Reason I Joined Direct Sales

One of the things you have to ask yourself when starting with a direct sales company (or starting a company of your own at all) is "Why?". For me, this was an especially important question because I found myself in a particularly stressful financial situation that I want to get out of as soon as possible.

So why am I doing this? I became a direct sales consultant with several companies because I was one of many college students who did not get any scholarships or grants and then struggled through school, setting me up poorly for finding a job out of college. Unfortunately, that education cost money and that money needs to be paid back. With the failure to land a high paying job to assist with this, I found myself struggling to figure out how to do it. My "why" is "pay off my student loans and not need to work two jobs" because I find myself exhausted and lacking on time. That, in itself, is another reason. I am a DS consultant because it's easier to find the time to do it. 

What's your "WHY"? Do you want to make some extra cash on the side? Perhaps you have a passion for sales and this is a good way to get started? Are you financially motivated like me? Maybe you're saving up for a project or vacation. You could just want to spread the word and make the mission your "why". Whatever the reason, let it drive you and don't give up. The biggest failure comes from not trying, and that is doubly true in the direct sales industry. Sitting idle is a dangerous game when trying to get in to sales. You have to do something to make something. Just like in any other business, it takes work. You can work from home, but you have to actually WORK.

What I've learned is that the motivation is key in driving the desire to succeed. If there is no reason, you're not as likely to make the push. It's taken me a long time to really build up motivation and I struggled and failed many times until I found Norwex. With a supportive upline and an amazing team I have a drive I didn't have before with other companies. I absolutely love the empowering feeling I get when we meet up for our monthly meetings.
