SOLID FOUNDATION

Just like with any new venture, most people will have to put in more time in the beginning without seeing a lot in return. This has a tendency to create doubt and lack of consistent effort for many. Most likely you will work your hardest and spend your greatest amount of time your first year of the business. That is most likely the year where you earn the least amount of money as your business grows.

Most people are used to going to a job, working 40 hours and getting a steady, predictable paycheck from their employer. As the owner of your own network marketing business you may get paid a commission daily or several times a month, depending when customers buy and distributors enroll in the business.

Most people quit too soon because they don’t see the fruits of their “labor” fast enough. Have you ever thought of treating your network marketing business like your own form of Social Security or Pension Plan? Develop a delayed-gratification mindset. At the beginning you are laying the foundation of your business. That will mean learning about the products or services, how to retail the product or services and how to sponsor and retain new partners. (Time to find a mentor.)

In many instances you may have to go to college 4 years or more before you can work in a particular profession. You’ll need to get educated in how the network marketing business model works and how you incorporate it into your day-to-day life. At first it may seem easy because you are very excited about the company and products and about the idea of being your own boss.

As time goes on, the emotions of this business eventually wear off… life seems to get in the way. How do you shield yourself from the noise and maintain your focus? To insure that you and your team stay focused until your goals are reached, all you have to do is have a compelling “Why” and keep it in front of you every day. If you’ve been in the industry long enough, you probably heard this over and over again. You must have a compelling “Why.”

Your “Why” is the secret to your ability to stick with this business when you hit a wall. Believe me I slammed into many walls. My “Why” is right in front of me. It is a picture of my family on my desk, my solid foundation.
