I have been involved with network marketing and online sales for 20+ years. A lot of my experience has been with mobile marketing services. I have seen and participated in programs that offer training and services that have little value but cost a lot. Let me explain how it works: I simple share a unique phone number assigned to me on my website, email signature, social media profile, etc or offline by including my number on a business card or newspaper ad. Potential customers see the number and when they call they are greeted with a voice recording about the service. Then when they press the 1 key on their phone as prompted the service automatically sends the caller a text message asking for their name and attempts to close the sale by answering common questions and sending video links all through text message! If the caller stops responding the service will call them back a couple hours later to see if it is a more convenient time to continue. So the chatbot closes sales for me on auto pilot! 

It gets better, as the owner of the number I can see all of the chat interactions from my backoffice and I can also send text messages to the caller from the service without exposing my personal number. Additionally, from the backoffice, I can setup custom keywords to my other programs (and my case other bots) and the service will display the message/links I have setup with the keyword.
