By now, we have all heard the hype about CBD oil and its many, many benefits. You may NOT have heard of CBD-A. Today I would like to teach you a little bit about this advancement in CBD technology and how it is EVEN BETTER than CBD for your body! 

What is CBD?

Cannabidiol or CBD is a non-intoxicating component of the cannabis plant with enormous therapeutic potential. CBD doesn’t make people feel high like THC from smoking or ingesting marijuana, instead, it interacts with the body’s endocannabinoid system. The endocannabinoid system is a complex signaling network that regulates a variety of biological processes like inflammation responses, pain management, relaxation, mood, sleep, metabolism, and appetite.

How is CBD Made?

Our goal today is to introduce you to the very special CBD-A, but to help you understand clearly, let's talk about how CBD oil is made.  Manufacturers start with hemp plants high in CBD, or with marijuana plants with high concentrations of CBD and low THC.  The stalks and seeds are turned into hemp pulp.  From here, there are several methods used to extract the CBD oil. 

The BEST practice as decided by the FDA to be "Generally Regarded as Safe" for consumption, is CO2 extraction. Liquid CO2 is passed through the pulp and gathers the CBD. The liquid CO2 is then extracted, leaving CBD oil, essential oils, lipids and other beneficial compounds. This is CBD in its most pure, "green" state. Finally, the remaining product goes through a process called decarboxylation where it is exposed to heat to make it readily absorbable by your body. 

Ok, So Now What
So now that we know more about the CBD oil process, let's talk about CBD-A and how it is poised to launch this industry to the next level.  At the point of the CBD extraction process where it is at "it's most green state", the CBD contains "raw" or "green" acid compounds that are lost through the final heat treatment. One of these is CBD-A.  CBD-A is the precursor to CBD.  If there are so many benefits to be had from the final CBD product, scientist looked at it's original form.  CBD-A is Cleaner. It does not need any extra processes to help it work at its peak.  Why would we want to loose the BEST part of the CBD product if we could find a way to protect it?
