The Income Reality Of The Average Home Business Owner

How much money do you think that the average home business owner makes per week?

Would you guess:

A - $1,000 to $5,000 per week?

B - $200 to $1,000 per week?

C - Less than $100 per week?

Believe it or not… The answer is actually C. Kinda crazy, right?! In fact… Less than 10% of network marketers EVER make more than $100 a week from their home business.

This blows my mind considering the millions of people that are involved in network marketing these days!

That means that a whopping 90% of home based business distributors are scraping by, earning tiny commission checks and operating a very mediocre business and lifestyle…

Why is this the case?!

Well it's not that big of a mystery... The idea of selling lotions, potions, and pills to family and friends is not exactly a sexy concept these days

And low ticket products mean low ticket commissions

It’s hard to get excited about making a $40 commission for signing up a new customer

Which means your team members won’t be that motivated to do the necessary work when they have to enroll hundreds of people to make any real money

Sure some people make big money doing that but they are the exception and it probably took them YEARS, possibly even decades to get to that level.

Serious home business owners promote products and / or services that yield high commissions… I’m talking about earnings to the tune of $1,000, $2,000, even $4,000 per sale.

Clearly, the products you choose to promote have a big impact on your income. This concept is the first of four pillars that create the most lucrative home-based business.

I call this pillar ‘High-Ticket Paired With Consumables’... Consumables are important for residual growth!

The average home-based business owner doesn’t even know about these kinds of products and businesses.

Inside this first pillar there are three concepts which explain why traditional MLM leaves most entrepreneurs frustrated and broke.

Concept #1 is something that I call ‘Leaky Bucket Syndrome.’

Back in the 70’s, 80’s, 90’s and even up to the early 2000’s you could grow a downline where people would stick around for years and even decades.

There were far fewer options in the home business industry as there are today, which meant people would hunker down longer and build their business along with your residual income check.

Today the number of new people coming into MLM each year is now drastically out of proportion with the number of new company start ups.

Thousands of new MLM’s launch every year thanks to the Internet. You can literally start your own company from your garage if you want.

In an industry where hype and pre-launch have become the norm, it's just harder to get people to stick with one company for the long haul.

Due to this and other factors, team member Attrition will kill your business and your residual income.

You end up having to endlessly enroll new reps to account for the people falling out. It’s like trying to fill a leaky bucket.

Concept #2 is tiny ‘commission checks.’

Another factor that leads to the debilitating issue of team member “attrition” is tiny commissions.

Low-ticket products produce low-ticket commissions.

If a new team member has to struggle to make their first sale and the commission from that sale can barely buy lunch for 2 at the Olive Garden, that team member probably won't stick around for very long.

If your team member joined the business to replace an income from a previous job or business, you want to help them do that in the fastest way possible and with as few of sales as possible.

The harsh reality of MLM or even low ticket affiliate marketing products is that 99% will NEVER acquire the hundreds of reps or thousands of customers necessary to make even $5,000 let alone $10K per month.

When you align yourself with a high-ticket product, you can make that kind of money in a few sales per month.

The big secret about this concept that most people don’t know is that the amount of resources and effort required to obtain one high-ticket customer or team member is practically identical to what it takes to acquire a low-ticket customer or team member.

Concept #3 is ‘No Control’.

It’s a sobering reality for network marketing distributors when they realize that their income and livelihood is completely dependent on the decisions of other people.

While the idea of building a walk-away residual income off the efforts of others is extremely attractive, it is extremely rare and difficult, especially for the average person.

Using a high-ticket product (or service) business model is based on the idea that it is 10X more profitable and stable to make higher ticket commissions upfront.

You can still build a team and potentially make 100s of thousands… even millions of dollars from their efforts but you have to RELY on their efforts because one sale can produce enough income to make your rent or mortgage payment.

But make no mistake… You need products or services that pack big value to the end-user if you want to be successful.

Therefore, it is vital that the product or service you promote has a strong attraction for customer consumers; meaning there is a strong market demand for the product or service by people who are not interested in promoting or selling it. They buy for the product’s value.

Products that pack this kind of value solve problems; important problems. As a current or aspiring entrepreneur, that is what you’ll need to do, too. Solve problems!

The bigger and more painful the problem(s) that you can solve for other people, the more successful you will be.

So it's worth asking yourself... "do my products solve a big enough problem?" Or "are my products unique and attractive to a broad base of consumer-only customers?"

If you are not able to confidently answer that question with a resounding 'YES!' then it might be time to consider evaluating new products and / or services.
