IT'S A WONDERFUL LIFE

Warning! The following story may cause you to experience a aha! moment.

Our story begins with Excited Ed. We follow Ed on his daily routine in his efforts to build a successful network marketing business. Ed, like most marketers, has a full time job. Time is an issue. Ed wakes up early Saturday morning. Ed is excited because he has nothing on his agenda. He doesn’t even have to mow his lawn. Ed can now focus his efforts on recruit, recruit, and recruit.

It’s 7:30 am: Ed figures he can start the day with a few phone calls. But wait! Ed needs his energy to maintain his focus and carry him through the day. So he begins with breakfast.

8:30 am: Ed picks up the phone to make his first call. Ed stops and decides to hang up the phone. It just might be too early to be waking anyone up at 8:30 am on a Saturday morning. Ed figures he should really get into his goal setting. After all, if you don’t know where you’re going, how are you going to get there?

9:30 am: Ed has his goals in order and his “Why” that will make him cry. Ed makes his first call and is ready to make his anticipated presentation. The phone rings and rings and rings. Ed doesn’t wait for the answering machine to kick in when he abruptly hangs up the phone. Ed says, “Oh well, nobody’s home. I’ll try again later.”

Before making his next call Ed comes up with a brilliant idea. He decided to check his emails to see if anyone sent him a message about his business. After all, he sent out a ton of messages letting people know that he now owns a business.

11:00 am: After reading his emails and browsing the Internet for more ideas to market his business, Ed realizes he spent at least 2 hours online. Ed is ready to get back on his phone to call more prospects. Wait a minute! Ed remembers his company conference calls. Ed can’t miss those calls.

3:00 pm: After his company conference call Ed decides it was time for lunch. He thinks about all the people he needs to talk to regarding his business. Ed decides to get out and talk to some people.

4:00 pm: After driving around for a while Ed felt discouraged. His self-confidence hit an all time low. He convinces himself that it was time to go back home and check his emails.

What Ed really needs is a sponsor. Not someone who recruits him into a business. When you’re recruited, you usually find yourself trying to figure it out on your own. Ed needs an experienced and trusted adviser. When you have a Mentor, life is truly wonderful.
