Realistic Numbers to Succeed in Your MLM Business
MLM is a numbers game. Anyone telling you other wise is lying to you. That being said, it’s also a game of skill and strategy, but you will need to sift and sort through a large pool of people to find your key players.
Most top earners in our industry make most of their money from just one to three leaders on their team, even if they have sponsored hundreds of people. While that might sound crazy to some people, that is also the beauty of our industry.
A couple of good leaders can change your life forever. Best of all, you don’t even need to personally sponsor them yourself. They can show up in depth.
To play it safe, let’s assume you need FIVE key people to really build a large MLM Team.
Here are some conservative numbers to show you how to do that. Please note that I use the 20/80 Rule, or 1 in 5 Rule to give you an example. Individual results will vary from person-to-person:
• To find 5 key people you need 25 distributors who actually do something
• To recruit 25 people who do actually something you need to sponsor 125 distributors
• To recruit 125 distributors you need to show 625 presentations
• To show 625 presentations you need to approach 3,125 prospects
Using this strategy, you would need to approach 3,125 people about your business. That sounds like a huge number to most people, but if you contacted just two people per day, it would take you about 5 years to do.
If you contacted five people a day, every day, you could get that done in 625 days, which is less than 22 months. If you contacted 10 people a day, you could get that done in about 10-11 months.
That is the power of numbers working for you. The real key to success in this business is making exposures to new prospects every single day.
I suggest you pick a number that is doable, somewhere between three and ten people, and make a vow to never go to bed at night until you have exposed that many people to your business that day.
If you have the discipline to do that, you could literally build an empire in two to five years, all while working your network marketing business part-time.
Here’s the great part about this. As you start contacting people, you will improve your skills. You will learn how to identify better quality prospects. As a result, your conversions will increase. That is what you want.
Keep in mind, everyone has a number. No one knows what their number will be. It’ simply the amount of people you have to approach to sponsor a lot of people to find a few quality people. I’ve found that the quicker you get through these exposures, the better you will do, and the fewer people you will need to approach.
Now you know. Eliminate the excuses and expose new people to your business opportunity daily. Do that and you will make it to the top of your compensation plan. Don’t do it and you will struggle.
