How to save without loosing purchasing power over time!

In the current day and age we get taught to save, 

but at the same time main stream marketing is geared to entice us to purchase on credit.

Everywhere  you look you see advertising selling instant gratification by offering credit!

So how can one save these days and protect the purchasing power of your hard earned savings?

Lets look at personal inflation, take everything you purchase throughout the month and research what the price was 10 years ago, 5 years ago as well as the current price. Then work out what your true average personal inflation is over the last 10 Years, compare that to what the government claims inflation is.

Compare the average inflation per year to the interest you can get from the bank in a savings account, take it one step further and compare it to your investments.

If the returns of your savings/investments are lower then your personal inflation you are actually losing and going backwards. The sad thing is, most of us are going backwards and actually earning less every year despite salary increases or job changes which make you earn more.

The big problem is that the purchasing power of our fiat currency is  getting less every year at an alarming rate that is higher than the increases we get from the returns we get from savings and investments.

Don't take my word for it! Do the exercise yourself and find your true reality! Take ownership and do something about it!

The only thing that has kept its value over decades is Gold, which has been used as a payment method for decades.
