My name is Shani Rico, I became a financial literacy consultant after experiencing some challenges early in my career. I had very poor spending habits. I would spend money as soon as it came and saved nothing for a rainy day. Then I became unable to work for an extended period of time. Due to situations with my health, I went on disability and eventually stopped working all together. I had literally gone from making over 50k yr to welfare. During that time I was evicted from my home and battled with bouts of depression. I struggled because I realized that up until that point I identified a lot of my self esteem with the accomplishments in my career.

Thats when my thinking shifted. I has to really find out who I was, without the nice job, cars, and other possessions. I was determined to put my life back together and learn from my past mistakes. I became very intentional about how to develop SMART habits that would ultimately lead to my never being affected financially like I had been in the past.

Since then I have devoted myself to learning about financial literacy and helping others. I am passionate about helping people acheive their financial goals using the power of credit and entrepreneurship. My goal is to help at least 100 families buy homes in 2020 and beyond.
