The MLM Residual Income Lie
You’ve heard it over and over again. Do the work once get paid over and over again. HA! Easier said than done, right? The number of people in Network Marketing that truly earn real residual income is so low; it’s hard to calculate. Don’t misunderstand me. I’m not saying there aren’t people earning a few bucks a month from their downline, but most earn nothing and the rest don’t earn enough to cover their auto ship. So, I don’t consider that REAL residual income. The reasons are simple. Most people join the network marketing industry to make money, not to use or buy some product or service that is in most cases over-priced. Now I’m all for making money! I love the MLM industry. The bottom line is when MLM works, there is nothing like it and when it doesn’t there is nothing like it either. So does it makes sense that if most people join an MLM to make money, they will quit when they don’t? Sorry to say the product isn’t the reason 99% of the people in this industry are in this industry. Disagree? Well you are wrong; the numbers don’t lie. Think about it this way. If the product/service is so good, why didn’t you just buy it? I know why and so do you. YOU WANTED TO MAKE MONEY! Again, there is nothing wrong with that. MLM is the best place to MAKE MONEY…if you know how the residual game works. Most people join an MLM because they need money now. If they don’t get it they quit. So setting expectations is a key to obtaining residual income. It doesn’t happen overnight, sorry. However, even if you are good at setting expectations, you will never obtain residual income if 90% plus of your downline quits. Heck, I bet most people quit reading this post. That’s how people are. So WHAT’S THE ANSWER? I’m going to tell you and if you are smart and you really want to create a residual lifestyle you will listen. First, the product/service is important. However, more people are interested in making money than selling any product or service. So focus first on people that want to earn more money. Second the product must have value to people for the long term. This is the tricky part. Just because you think it should be used/taken doesn’t mean enough others will agree. The pills, potions, vitamins and lotions game is nearly impossible to create REAL residual income. Sorry, again the numbers don’t lie. I know, everybody needs health and wellness, but the truth is most don’t care and if they do, they find cheaper products elsewhere. That is just the truth. Believe it and adjust or keep banging your head against the wall and lose more money and time. There also are service-based companies, like energy companies. That is a step in the right direction, but the problem is it is such a competitive market and it isn’t available in all 50 states. No one really gets excited about changing his or her service provider. But you already know that. The hardest thing to do is CHANGE A BUYING HABIT. The most profitable thing to do is CREATE A BUYING HABIT that becomes a necessity not just for the buyer, but also for the buyer’s family. They never stop using it. There aren’t many products/services that fit this category in the MLM industry. But if you find one and you are serious about creating lifestyle, you HAVE to jump on it.
