How long will a million dollars actually last?

When I was growing up we always believed that if you came into a million dollars, you were set for life. You would never have to work again. That was before I understood how important our mindset is and how to control our emotions.

I am not saying that having a million dollars in the bank is a bad thing, but I am saying that having a million dollars with no other income still leaves you coming up short after about twenty years or so.

I am sure you can figure out other income options during that twenty year period, but if you have to invest some of that million to learn skills, then you cut your time even shorter.

I listened to Grant Cardone make this point in a video the other day and I am just now writing about it. From whatever point that you come into that million dollars, if you live on about $4000 per month, you run out of money in about 21 years.

So, what is the solution? Learn to make as close to that same million dollars as you can each and every year. You will be able to live much more comfortably much longer that way.

I have also learned from reading "The Millionaire Mind" by T. Harv Eker, that millionaires don't become millionaires by accident. They are very much on purpose about reaching that status.

Are they snobs about it? Some maybe, but I really think many of them help other people with their money. They serve others with their money and their time. That's what leads to a happy and healthy life.

If we make that money and then hover over it trying to make sure nobody takes it, we live a miserable existence.

On the other hand, if we developed the skills personally to make that level of money and know how to repeat the process, then there is no reason to be insecure. We will be able to live comfortably and help others that we are able to help.

Are we afraid of making that kind of money? Some people are.

Are we willing to put in the effort and figure out a plan to make that kind of money? Some people are obviously because they reached that goal.
