Looking back at my life, I really don't know what I was thinking when I believed that I can be successful doing only what I was taught throughout my school years and by my folks and siblings. "If you want to be succesful you have to have a good job"- they said - "and if you want to make good money you have to work very hard." So after I finished my formal education in my twenties, I immediately started working - I worked hard as an office admin/manager for many years, yet the reward didn't come. I decided to quit and got another job where I got paid much better, but I was barely home. My social and leisure time pretty much vanished, friendships started to dissolve. I had to stop doing what I loved, which at the time was singing in a band. I knew this was not the life I wanted, so I went back to school to gain some more qualifications. Since then I worked in manufacturing, retail, hospitality and other services. I also challenged myself in my own home-based business once, which was an amazing experience. Yet none of these jobs gave me the satisfaction and reward I wanted, and they certainly didn't give me more freedom. Now, being a mum of two, working full time and commuting long distance, spending all this time to create someone else's success became even more irritating.
