Passion my butt

Passion doesn't guarantee a profit.

In fact, it doesn't make a profit easier. It doesn't add anything at all to your bid-niss expertise. 

It does sell a lot of useless junk to clueless noobs, though.

I read a story once about an entrepreneur who owned a successful hunting guide service. Hunters from all over would contract with him to lead them out into the wilderness to shoot at animals. (it's a good story whether you like to kill your food for yourself or not) 

Anyway, the guy in question didn't hunt. He didn't like to camp or go traipsing over hill and dale to kill things, either. Seriously. He didn't even like to watch outdoor shows on TV.

But how could he be successful with a hunting service if he had no interest in any of those things?! 

Because he had a passion for serving people. What I call making their lives better. Giving people what THEY want, not what YOU want. What THEY like, not what YOU like.

Seems simple enough, eh Kemosabi? 

Then why in the heck do so many wannabe goo-rues continue to shovel the "You've got to have PASSION!" crap?

It's a ploy. 

The trick is to get your marks (prospects) concentrating on all those good feelzies so they don't consider the more important questions. Questions like "Is there a market for what I'm passionate about?".

If ya gotta have passion, develop a passion for giving people exactly what they're looking for at a price that makes them almost feel guilty for not paying more. It's laughably easy when you're doing it online. 

It doesn't matter if you're passionate about the product or service. What matters is if someone else is. That's what tells you if there's a market for what you want to offer.

The easiest way to build a successful bid-niz is to find a group of people who are passionate about something, determine what they want to satisfy their craving, and create a product or service to give them what they want. 

Right about now you're probably thinking "Easier said than done".  

That's true.

Especially if you're following the worse than useless advice to "Follow Your Passion". 

Better advice is to "Follow Your Market's Passion".

Finding the market you want to serve and figuring out what they want is up to you.
