Executive email marketing

Executive Email lists

Executives are notoriously hard to reach. Often with personal assistants to "protect" them from unwanted contact, especially in larger companies and organisations. However, very few (if any) executives don't actually have an email address.

Marketwise has extensive email lists of all types of Executives, including:

• Chief Executive Officers

• Chief Financial Officers

• Chief Technology Officers

• Chief Security Officers

• Chief Information Officers

• Chief Operations Officers

and sundry other less common titles.

Key decision makers

Each executive usually has key decision making powers over a particular segment of a business. Who do you need to reach?

CxO discussion

CEO – overall responsibility for the running of the company and the strategy.

CFO – finances, accounts, invoicing and revenue collection. Overall responsibility to create the company financial statement and if it is a public company, present the data to investors. HR and sometimes IT report to the CFO. Usually considered the number 2 role to the CEO.

CTO – technology, both in products and services that the company sells, but can include technology that helps the company run smoothly and efficiently. Internal computer networks may also come under the CTO, if a COO is not in place.

CSO – an increasingly important role for all companies, Cyber Security. With the rise of cyber threats, ransomware, DDoS attacks and other malware, the CSO has a critical role to ensure the companies network and data remains secure.

CIO – sometimes also called a Chief Data Officer, this is another role growing in popularity and importance. Companies are often collecting more and more data, both internal on their processes and externally on their customers. Forward thinking companies are data mining to gain a competitive advantage.

COO – responsible for day to day running of a company and depending on what other CxO’s are in place, may have overall technical and data responsibility. Usually will not have any responsibility for products or services the company offers, rather only internal systems.

Getting attention in an Email message

There are several key points to bear in mind when trying to reach out to Executives. We like to stick to the “Three C’s” principle:

Be Concise. Zero waffle, zero padding, keep it exactly to the point and talk to their precise area of responsibility.

Be Credible. Talk to executives at the right level, these are big picture people. Show you are experts in your field.

Build Curiosity. If you want your target CxO to take an action, you need to make them curious to find out more. Pay the most attention to your subject line, creating curiosity in that is key to your CxO opening the email and starting your journey.

Marketwise allows you to target CxO’s by industry, countries, company size and more. Let us know who you need to target and we will build your custom list. We can send your message for you, or you can purchase the email list data to integrate into your own CRM system.
