Do You Feel Alone?

Isn't it amazing how in MLM, sometimes you feel like you're all alone in the world trying to reinvent the wheel?  I have had the personal experience of having zero support from the company and my sponsor.  Now, I'm not one of those who need to call for every little issue, in fact I'm a big DIY kinda guy.  I'm the guy that will spend three days trying to figure something out before calling customer service.  But, MLM is supposed to be about team building, right?  How come I never felt like part of a team? 

Sitting on the Bench

So many times, I have felt like I've been a bench warmer.  I've always wanted to play, I just never had the right coach to help me get the skills necessary to get on the field.  And, while watching the others was a great experience, I needed time on the field.  So,  I continued to look for ways to get out there.  And, you know what?  I started to play ball.  Sure, I needed some practice to be sure.  But, before you knew it, I was swinging and hitting the ball.  But, it sure does help when other teammates come over and throw the ball or hit the ball to you to give you some great experience in building your skill level.  Teamwork is the hallmark of any good team in MLM, or in any business really.  Those companies that foster teamwork and a culture of encouragement and personal growth really do stand out in the crowd.  You will never forget going into that Starbucks and seeing a team that really worked well together.  And, they were having fun, too!  They enjoyed their jobs, and I'm sure the tips were higher than the less positive teams.

When the star players are giving classes and hands on training, now you're talking about a team that is serious about going places.  Their experience, expertise and enthusiasm can help the team start winning in a big way.  The new players feel like part of the team, and they start growing and becoming an important part of the team's success.  There's great communication, and everyone has a great time.  That's how teamwork should be.  There are wins, and some setbacks along the way, but the cohesive team is a team that stays together and excels.  If you want to be on the field, get out there and do it!  And, when your at bat remember to swing with everything you've got.  Sure, you'll miss more than you hit.  But, when you start hitting that ball, you will feel fantastic!  And, the more hits you get, the better you'll become.  And, the most important thing is, you'll be enjoying the journey, building relationships with other teammates, and helping those in the stands to feel good too.

So, don't get discouraged.  We've all been rookies at something.  And, not every team is a good fit for everyone.  Try to find that team that works together, to help one another and to have that winning spirit no matter where you are in the organization.  You know you're in the right place when somebody who is cross line from you and spends time on the phone encouraging and coaching you.  Maybe even offering to do a 3 way call with you and a prospect.  I don't know about you, but I'm feeling like having a box of Cracker Jacks!  And, I can almost smell the hotdogs and peanuts.  Did I hear the Umpire say: "Batter Up!"
