All Wealthy people are rich but not all rich people are wealthy.

Some time ago, a comment made about the wealthy catapulted this thought in my head, "All wealthy people are rich but not all rich people are wealthy."

The logical follow-up question must be then, "What makes the rich wealthy?" Here are my suggested reasons.

  • The rich tend to be takers. They hold on to the money they have and are always seeking to add more to their store of money. The wealthy are givers. They operate on the premise that it's more blessed to give than to receive.
  • The rich go into a venture with the thought, "What's in it for me?" "What can I do to make the most money from this?" The wealthy asks, "How many people can I help with this venture?" "How can I do the greatest good to the greatest number of people?"
  • The rich businessman's biggest concern is the size of his profits. He goes all out to ensure that last dollar is wrung out of the enterprise. The wealthy's major concern is the welfare of his employees and partners. He goes the extra mile to foster good morale and satisfaction in his company/business.
  • The rich employer sees his employees as people who work FOR him. The wealthy employer views his employees as people who work WITH him. This affects in a large way how he treats his employees.
  • The rich businessman pays his workers their wages. In many cases, these are the minimum amounts he can legally give. The wealthy businessman rewards his workers for helping him to succeed in his business.
  • The rich is often a grumpy, unhappy person who his employees go to great lengths to avoid him. He is always unhappy with his employees and there is usually a tense atmosphere in the workplace. The workplace of the wealthy is usually a happy and productive atmosphere where employees are at liberty to offer suggestions and take initiative.
These are obviously generalizations but an accumulation of my observations over the years in various areas of business.

The important choice we each must make is whether we want to be wealthy or rich. The choice is yours.

My choice of businesses therefore are ones in which I seek to help as many people as possible by providing them with excellent products or services that will be of benefit to them.

If they are happy, then my business will be a success.
