Network marketing is a numbers business...and a people business
Proverbs 3:5,6 - Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to Him, and he will make your paths straight.
Network marketing is a business that is very different from a traditional business from all the research I have done since being involved. It seems there can be a common thread when it comes to numbers, since not all people who come into a brick and mortar store will make a purchase, but still customers are handled differently than in network marketing.
Most people don't understand network marketing since our culture doesn't provide much education on it. It is up to those of us who understand it to promote it in the right way.
As we build our business, there will be rejection and we simply have to get comfortable with that and keep moving if the rejection piles up in a given period of time. As long as we are moving forward, we keep gaining skills and learning to deal with people and improve. It is still a fact that we have to talk to a lot of people to get the "yes" responses.
Once we get the "yes", then it's time to train and help the new person get off on the right foot. That's when it becomes a people business. Those who want it and are hungry for a change in their lives deserve our time, and we learn to balance training people with continuing our recruiting.
The idea being, of course, that when the new person we bring in has enough confidence and they know they can work on their own, we can focus on our own recruiting again. We always want to put energy into our people and our teams and be ready for a three way call or any other help we can give.
We learn over time to balance the number of people we reach out to, training, and just living our lives. I build part time still, and this means that as I work to build I have to plan ahead for how I will deal with training and balancing everything.
We want each person that joins us in the business to be as successful as we can help them become. That way everybody wins. We want our entire organization to be healthy as possible with training and getting to know each other as much as possible, too.
As Eric Worre says, " Network marketing isn't perfect, it's just better." The challenges are worth it.
