Direct Cellars launches in UK; Germany and France next

Did you know that the UK population is approx. 20% of the population of the USA?  Surprisingly the consumption of wine in the UK is second ONLY to the USA which tells us that the market for wine sales in the UK is ENORMOUS.  There is a growing trend within UK wine consumers to use wine clubs which deliver to the door since the wine chosen for the customer is perceived to be of better quality than much of the wine available in retail outlets.  We've recently seen an article in UK National Press which reports that sales of 'cheaper' wines such as Blossom Hill and those around the £5 per bottle, are in decline, with consumers developing a desire for wines with character and a 'story' rather than mass produced wines which taste the same year in and out.  

Direct Cellars is a newcomer to the UK and enters the market as a premium quality Wine Club, delivering wines selected by a team of sommeliers with over 200 years of wine buying experience between them.  Direct Cellars Wine Club has been delivering a monthly tasting box to customers within the USA for four years and has a mission to educate consumers in wines sourced from each major wine growing region of the world over the course of a year.  The education programme offered to each customer and business partner is unique to Direct Cellars with our resident 'wine whisperer' providing weekly video content.  For the average consumer, this is of great value and will end the 'vacant stare' as he attempts to choose from the hundreds of wines offered within most supermarkets
