Why do I need a dash cam?

Having a dash cam in your vehicle is like having an eye witness. If you have to make an insurance claim or give police evidence it can be used as clear evidence. It could well save you time and money when claiming as a lot of insurance companies rely on dash cam footage to make decisions and will give a discount on your premium just for having a dash cam installed.

Some important things to think about when purchasing a dash cam are:

• Image Quality - When making an insurance claim or giving police evidence the image quality needs to be clear. I would recommend anything above 1080P.

• Storage - it's not just the amount of space your SD card can hold that's important as most cameras these days have loop recording, but also the type and speed of storage. Any branded SD card over 32G and a class 10 or above sure be sufficient.

• Lens Sensor - This isn't as important as the above but it does make a difference in image quality. The lens sensor is the part that takes the images. Try to find one with a glass lens. Sony make particularly good lenses.
