Making and Working Your List

As crazy and old fashioned as this sounds, making your initial list can jumpstart your business. Most people play over negative things that could happen when they start talking to people they know about their new business.

Take what I say here to heart. Do not prejudge ANYONE. The fact is most people that you talk to will have absolutely no interest in becoming an IBO or business partner. You need to know and accept this going in. 

I am going to give you an approach that has worked for years and years and still works. You simply call or meet your friend and say "Joe, I started a new business." That's it..... all of it!

The next step is what will make or break you. Here goes..... Stay silent until you get a response! At this point you may begin feeling a bit awkward and time will seem to be standing still at times.

The response will normally be positive.Something like "That's awesome, what is it?" At this point, simply tell him what your business sells and ask for his personal opinion. "Of course, I want you to be a customer Joe, but only if you like what I'm selling. Will you give me honest feedback good or bad?"

This will always work, friends. You must commit to using it over and over with anyone and everyone you know. It does not matter what you think they might think. Ask for their opinion.

Do not try to recruit these people. You are trying to sell them your product or service, thats it. In the course of doing this enough times, people will ask you about the business and how you make money. Resist the temptation and tell them you'll have somebody contact them to explain the business. I would go so far as to act rather uninterested myself.

The title of this article is Making and Working Your List. Your list is everyone you know. The easiest place to start may be Facebook. The key is to talk to these people live. I prefer face to face or on the phone. Today, I know many people that actually are able to do this via messaging live or texting. 

Please try doing these things. I promise, you will be happy with the results. Be sure and let your teams know about your success doing these things. Do not ask or tell them to do this until you have done it.
