Are There Benefits From Working From Home?

Is it better to work a 9-5 job that you go to everyday or work for yourself at home? You get to set your own hours and work the days that you want if you work from home.

This is where I get my notebook out and write out the "Pros" and "Cons." 

1) You know you have a job to go to (at least today)
2) You know how much money you will make from week to week
3) Possible benefits
4) Possible advancement
1) Have to work their hours and not yours
2) Have to accept what they pay you, whether you are worth more or not
3) Have to pay high benefit premiums
4) Hard to get time off, especially paid time off
5) May never get promoted
6) Risk possible layoff or business going bankrupt
1) Set your own hours
2) Make as much or as little money as you want
3) Advance when you want
4) Take off when you want
1) Have to be self disciplined
2) Have to be responsible to work and not goof off
3) Not sure how much money you will be making
4) Will you take working from home serious 

Now that you have written your pro's and con's you have to decide for yourself if you are dedicated enough to have a career working from home. If you have to be at your 9-5 job at 7am and work for eight hours, will you have the motivation to spend several hours at your home job? 

Working from home is networking so you have to dedicate the time to network with people, either through social media, email, phone calling, or through article writing like the article you are reading now.
Your home business is more important because you are the boss. Organization is the key to a successful business so make a list of what you are going to do and stick with it. It may take months for your business to take off so allow yourself at least a year of hard work before you can expect to see a profit. Remember, not everyone is going to say yes to your presentation. In fact, most will say "no" but don't get discouraged. Stay with it and you will benefit from a successful home business.
