CBD Hemp Oil Is Not Marijuana

Anytime you mention hemp you are likely to get puzzling look from people. It is because people associate hemp with marijuana, which gets people high when used recreationally. The association is made because marijuana and hemp are varieties of Cannabis sativa plant. The marijuana contains tetrahydrocannabinol (THC)- ingredient causing people to get high. Whereas, hemp contains only 0.3% THC not enough to have any adverse impact. Hemp is a naturally occurring plant.

Cannabidiol, (CBD) is a cannabinoid, a chemical compound found in cannabis plants. There are estimated to be over one hundred cannabinoids, but only two warrants most attention- THC and CBD. Cannabidiol, unlike THC, is non-intoxicating, thus it will not get you high. CBD is not psychoactive and will not make you high if you take it. THC binds directly to the receptors found predominantly in the brain, thus promoting intoxication.
