One Little thing makes a huge difference.

  There is one thing that can make the difference between earning an income in network marketing and going broke.This little thing is so powerful that, if you do it consistently, your success rate will increase by 1000%. Yet 90% of the people in network marketing overlook it.  

 What am I talking about? Prospecting. More accurately, qualifying prospects.  Most marketers are of the mind that all they have to do is show their opportunity to a lot of people. If they get their products in front of as many people as possible they will make a bunch of sales and get people pouring into their downlines ready to make them a huge income.

Getting your product or opportunity in front of a lot of people may get a few sales and sign ups, but if you want to be a professional network marketer, getting your material in front of a lot of the right people will result in more sales per dollar spent and more of the right people in your downline.

 I had a customer that wanted to become an affiliate. She dreamed of having a home based business so she could help her husband support their 3 kids. He had a job that kept him away for long periods of time. I interviewed her about how serious she was. Her answers told me she thought of it as a nice idea. She had no idea how much she wanted to make on a monthly basis, she didn't know how much time she would be able to work on her business, and didn't want to make any investments into her business if she had one.

 This customer has a strong why, but she hasn't given the idea of having a network marketing business any thought. On a scale of 1 - 10,  I would rate her desire to have a business a 4 tops. If she had joined my team as an affiliate one of two things would happen. 

1: I would have to take her by the hand and make her take the steps necessary to succeed at network marketing again and again.

or

2: She would drop out of network marketing within a month. 

Neither of these options are good for either of us or the industry. 

So how do you qualify your prospects? There are several answers to this question including:

  • Phone calls
  • Email surveys
  • Interviews on social media
  • Face to Face interviews

When I get a lead I always try to get 3 things. Their name, email address, and their phone number.

It is best to contact the lead as soon as they fill in the information and submit it. They are thinking about your opportunity or product and are hot. Contacting them within an hour of them filling out your form increases the likelyhood of a sale by 400%. 

 For people interested in becoming affiliates I have 5 basic things I want to know. Are they serious about starting a home based business. How much time are they willing to commit to their business. What amount of income do they want to make within that time frame. Are they able to follow directions and take action everyday.   And Why do they want a home based business.

If my prospects have thought about these questions  I will lead them to the signup form,  these prospects are serious about making money with affiliate marketing.

  For the ones that haven't or the ones that need a little more guidance, I will send them to a recorded conference call or video about the opportunity and product line. I will ask them to call or message me after they have reviewed the material. Doing this puts them in a state of mind where they begin to think about the questions and gets them excited about network marketing.  If they follow through and contact me they are serious. I then send them to the signup form.

I never close the door on a prospect. I always leave them with the tools and information they need to become a member of my team.

This may seem like a lot more work than you expected when you signed up to start your network marketing business. But don't be discouraged.  Most of this can be automated with autoresponders and email campaigns. Although that personal touch will go a very long way in developing trust.

 After all, this is NETWORK marketing, meaning you need a network of people to reach that leveraged income goal.
