Our Online Business Story

In 2001 my wife, our five children and I moved to Canada from the Philippines, seeking to find greener pastures and provide a better future for our children. The two pieces of luggage and several boxes constituted all the material possessions we could carry with us in this newfound adventure. We were relocating to an unfamiliar environment full of uncertainties and challenges.

My wife and I started working odd jobs to make both ends meet. We eventually found corporate jobs that allowed us to live comfortable lives. After years of being caught up in a rat race, dealing with supervisors and managers and never-ending demands, I burnt out. I started to ask myself this question “wasn’t life made to live?” Is it just waking up at 5:30 every morning, rushing to meet work deadlines, be home by 5:30 pm (that’s already 12 hours of my day), rush again to do the household chores, sleep by 11 pm and then repeat the same cycle the next day? Is life just working to pay the mortgage, pay the bills and wait for retirement to happen? I wasn’t happy anymore. I was starting to lose my confidence and the purpose of it all. I was yearning for a work-life balance. There must be more to life than this never ending drudgery. I told myself something has to change. 

I started looking at digital businesses and marvelled at how people made it. I tried several of them and spent thousands of dollars but to no avail. There was always something that did not agree with me. Either there was something missing or it is not going anywhere. It was frustrating and financially draining. I kept on searching and hoping that there will be a light at the end of the tunnel. I kept searching, reviewing, cross-referencing all sorts of online businesses until I stumbled across an ad on social media that got my attention. I studied it meticulously and this time with tons of caution and skepticism. I attended the webinar and pondered on the information I gathered. I eventually went to the group page and read the member’s success stories. After considering the pros and cons, my wife and I took a leap of faith and now on the road to financial freedom.
