Happy New Year!
No, I really haven't gone crazy though I understand why you would think that! I got an email yesterday from one of my mentors saying exactly that - Happy New Year! And yes, I did wonder where he was going with it.
So basically he was saying it's June now, half way through in fact, so less than 6 months til Christmas and in particular New Year. Which obviously we all know, but it really made me think about where I am, and where I'd like to be by New Year.
And I would really like a Happy New Year! And for me, that means not to have to have another year of scraping money together to pay for stuff. I want to be able to go away on holiday without having to save for a year, to treat my Grandchildren, to go for a meal without checking I can afford it. And just be able to treat others sometimes.
This year I reached the grand old age of 66 and became a 'pensioner' but actually you don't get a whole load of money in the UK for becoming a pensioner. Though I do have a free bus pass which is fun! But I've realised that it's lucky I still have have a husband who also has his pension, because alone I'd really be struggling to pay for my home, without factoring in the bills!
