If you have a small business, you need a blog. Even if you have your own website; that isn’t enough. Here are the reasons why I think you need a blog for your business.

When you have a blog, you can build a community online. People can ask questions and leave comments to what you write about. Assuming you post regular blog posts, people will come back and visit your blog on a daily or weekly basis: just what you want.
You have to remember that people like to associate with other people who have similar interests. If you write good content that will benefit your target market, they will consider your blog as part of their community.
As a result, they will buy more stuff AND they will share your blog with others.
# 2 Communicate Often
One of the best things about a blog is that you can communicate with your audience frequently. You can post a blog post every day, or every few days. This keeps your message in front of your audience at all times.
People can subscribe to your RSS feed or comments to get emails whenever something gets updated on your blog. The more times that people see your message, the more customers you will get.
# 3 Free Search Engine Traffic
Another great thing about a blog is that you can generate lots of free traffic from the search engines. If you have a game-plan, you can leverage this free traffic to get more leads and convert some of those leads into paying customers. This can be an added bonus to your paid advertising.
# 4 Build Your Brand
Whether your realize it or not, you already are your own brand. With a blog, you can portray yourself and business any way you want to. You can create your own image. This is very, very powerful. Many companies spend billions of dollars each year to do this. You can do this very inexpensively with a blog.
