DIRECT MAIL VS. INTERNET
Direct Mail vs. Internet Marketing
I have been around for 30 years. I started when everything was snail mail. My first try at mail-order made me $50,000 in four months. Two years later the fax machine became popular. Faxing broadcasting was the way to go. Then the Internet came along. I have noticed a lot of marketers have dropped the snail mail for the cheaper way to go with email marketing. I have come to the conclusion that it is better to use a little bit of all of it. I find that direct mail and cold calling still works best for me.
If you want positive responses the direct mail seems to work the best because when I publish and invite someone to visit a website it will be a person who is interested in what is being offered. They are not just someone with a lot of curiosity to get in the way. I have sent out emails to a lot of people who went to the website being promoted and no one made a positive response.
I know for a fact that a lot of the big guru’s use postcards to drive positive responses to their websites. They call it their secret weapon, and therefore make a lot of money. When they mail they have the money to mail thousands of postcards. The average marketer does not have that kind of money. Next best thing is to mail a few every day and before long you will have a lot of postcards out, driving people to your website. This way you do not break the bank while driving people to the site. A little bit of direct mail and some internet can go along way in building your business.
Our lead generation for our list insures that the people listed are active in some sort of marketing. If you decide to order a few list and mail a few postcards, do not order opportunity seekers. Opportunity Seekers is the worst list you can buy. Make sure the list is opportunity buyers. All of our listings come from the mail we receive. They are not interviewed leads or just opportunity seekers. They are active marketers promoting something from snail mail to internet.
