Why do you want to start a business.
People start businesses for all sorts of reasons. What is yours? You may already have one or you maybe looking to start one. What ever your circumstance you need a why. This will motivate you to succeed. Why are you doing what you do? Work/life balance? Financial reward? Need to be flexible? Want to be your own boss? There as as many reasons as there are businesses. When thinking about starting you need to think of some questions.
1. Why do I want to do it?
2. What am I trying to achieve? Your goal.
3. Where do you want your business to be in 1 year, 3 years 5 yrs, 10 years and so on.
4. What skills do I need? Do I need training? Where can I find this help? Who can help me?
5. When do I want to start? Immediately. In a month, 6 months etc.
6. Where will my clients come from?
7. What is my online presence like? Do I need to improve these skills?
8. Can I cope with being my own boss? Do I have the discipline to do it?
9. What sort of business do I want?
10. Am I happy with sales or is there something else I could do.
You answers to these questions will determine what sort of business you go for, the success you make and the hours you are willing to put in. There are certainly benefits to working for yourself, but there are also disadvantages. Can you do tax? National Insurance etc. What insurances do I need? Do I need premises? Do I need to buy stock, where can I store it etc.
You may have tried something before but it didn't work. You might be looking for something to add onto a business or to completely start again.
