Killing the 40/40/40
In today’s society, we are raised to go to school, get a job, work until we retire, and maybe in retirement we can do the things we want to. This is the trap of the 40/40/40: work 40 hours a week for 40 years, to retire on 40% of your income. It’s a miserable trap, but it is escapable! Creating passive, residual income is the key to breaking out of the 40/40/40. How, though, do we create residual income? Our MLMs and DS companies tell us that it’s all a numbers game - that the more people we talk to, the more residual income we’ll be able to create. While there might be a shred of truth in this, that methodology is simply trading the corporate 40/40/40 for the MLM 40/40/40: if we spend all of our time prospecting and training, we never truly achieve that time freedom that is so alluring in the first place. So what now? How do we avoid the MLM 40/40/40? There are different answers to this, from taking your business online to fully automated bots to funnels and squeeze pages. While these might work, they often require learning a whole new field and can eat up tons of your most valuable asset: time. My answer to killing the 40/40/40 is this: find a tribe. Find those select few people who share your vision, and focus on training them and building together. Stop worrying about whose MLM is better or right, and start working TOGETHER. Find business builder who appreciate you, who want to see you succeed. It doesn’t need to be a competition. It merely needs to be a cooperation. Maybe you partner with another MLMer whose services compliment yours. Maybe you find someone who is struggling in their own MLM because of a bad comp plan or fishy products. Maybe you can be the one to foster a community of team, and destroy the 40/40/40 that is so self-centered.
