Mitten trends of 2017
Every new parent knows that when the baby comes (and even before then) there’s usually a lot of shopping to do. There’s diapers to buy, clothes to get, even toys to start picking out. One of those must-have things parents have to shop for is newborn scratch mittens and teething mittens. There’s a lot that goes into finding the right pair of newborn mittens. However, you don’t have to come with a long list of all the things you want before going out to look for that perfect pair. You could simply buy what’s trending in today’s mitten market.
Go organic
Going green is the in thing. If you want to get the best value for your money, buy organic mittens for your little one. Organic baby mittens are popular right now because:
- They give you value for your money. Other mittens for babies might be slightly cheaper, but they don't last long. Organic mittens last longer so you don’t have to keep replacing them
- They’re so baby friendly. What else can keep your baby comfortable and not irritate their skin like organic baby products?
- Organic baby mittens keep the toxins away from your babies
If you’re thinking of getting your child a pair of newborn scratch mittens, it might be a good idea to get them the comfy, funky, bright-colored new organic mittens on the market.
Play with the Materials
Wearing the same thing day in day out can get boring after a while. So as you do your mitten shopping, make sure you do a little mix and match. Make dressing your baby a fun thing.
The first thing to consider before you start plotting out the wardrobe is the weather. Shop for materials for the various seasons.Get some cotton mittens and throw in a couple of linen and polyester pairs as well for the indoors. And summer. For the winter, look for unique funky mittens. You could look at brands like N’Ice Caps which make thick, well-insulated and waterproof winter mittens. Mix and match wool and fleece pairs for your baby’s wintermitten collection. You could buy the newborn mittens in packs to make it easier on your budget.
Stay-on Mittens
Newborn mittens are notorious for always falling off. This year, a couple of manufacturers decidedto get ahead of the market with stay-on baby mittens. Now, these are not your usual run-in-the-mill baby mittens. Those have closures that parents would use to tie their kiddies’ mittens to their hands. The new types of mittens don't have closures. Instead, they have long cuffs. When you put these kinds of mittens on your baby, the sleeves roll out to the elbows. That way, the mittens stay in place for long periods.
Another option would be to get your baby night clothes that roll out onto their hands. However, you should only put long cuff newborn baby hand gloves and newborn mittens on babies for a short time, maybe just through the night. Babies have to learn to use their fingers and having mittens on them all day could hinder that.
