Should You Join Every Opportunity?

What do i look for when I want to join a direct sales company?

Top rated quality products 

Decent prices, good VALUE 

Aligned with my ethics 

Method and amount of payout 

Commission/pay structure 

Satisfaction guarantee,  does the company stand behind their products and have faith in their products? 

How long have they been established and what is their reputation? 

What I don’t want:

No offense intended to people who work in companies that sell clothing, candles, etc. but most of these products are just average; there’s nothing too special or unique about them. And marked up a ton so affiliates can earn commission. Maybe some clothing is cute or some candle scents are exclusive, but there are so many places you can do custom prints, graphics, words, etc. that are reasonably priced. Amazon has a huge variety of clothes, makeup, candles and so forth in all styles and sizes at hugely competitive prices.

How many programs should a person join?

Many people have told me they join every free opportunity they can. Maybe that works for them, and I honestly don’t know what their commission checks look like. Thats not desirable for me, personally. That would be too much hassle to keep track of everything and too much to promote. I feel I'd be wearing myself too thin and work myself into a frenzy. 

What Works for Me

I have joined a handful of programs because, lets face it, companies do sometimes go out of business or change their product to a lower quality, and if that happens I believe its wise to have a backup stream of income. 

I have three main programs I promote and a few others i remain in but keep in the back burner unless it seems worthwhile to mention to a person or to promote a really good special that’s running...
