I didn’t know much about it until a few months ago. For the last few years, I’ve dealt with chronic shoulder pain from various hockey injuries and other not so smart things that I did when I was younger. The pain affected just about every area of my life from work, to interacting with my family, losing sleep because of the pain and so on. To manage my pain, I was taking 10 to 12 Advil every day just to be pain free. If you take the time to read a bottle of Advil, taking this many each day is not good for your health so I knew I had to do something other than hurting myself further taking all those pain relievers.
Of course, I was thinking the worst before I went to my doctor, did I have a torn rotator cuff? Is the cartilage in my shoulder joint worn out? Do I need a shoulder replacement? Is it arthritis? I didn’t know what was wrong, but I knew I had to do something about it. In talking with my doctor, he determined that it most likely was early arthritis that was causing my pain and wanted to give me a preion for it. His solution was to prescribe Vicodin. Really, Vicodin??? He wanted to prescribe a highly addictive opioid similar to heroin to manage my pain. I was not going to take any sort of narcotic that I would get hooked on just to get rid of my pain. I asked him what else could be used and his response was Motrin 500mg to which I asked, aren’t I just back in the same boat with potential liver damage like taking the Advil? The answer was yes. I declined his recommendations but at the same time knew I had to do something.
I had heard about CBD oil before but I didn’t really know much about it so I decided to do some research on what it was all about and how maybe it might be able to help me. What was most important is that I did not want to get high to relieve my pain for obvious reasons. I did not want anything that contained THC which is the psychoactive compound in marijuana that gets people high. Pure CBD oil I learned is derived from the Hemp plant, not marijuana and contains no THC which was very important to me not to alter my state of mind just to alleviate my pain.
So, knowing that I had to do something, I ordered a bottle CBD oil to see if it would work for me. I’ll be honest, I wasn’t expecting a miracle, I just wanted to quit taking so many Advil every day which would hurt me in the long run. Did I receive a miracle, you might say so, within 2 days of taking CBD oil, my pain was gone! I couldn’t believe it. Thinking that it might just be a placebo type effect, I was waiting to wake up the next day to the pain all over again.
It has been a few months since I have been taking CBD oil daily and the pain has not come back! I couldn’t be more pleased with the results compared to what Vicodin would do to me that my doctor wanted to prescribe.In these past few months, I decided to become involved with the company who manufactures the CBD oil along with other CBD based products just because I truly believe in the health benefits that CBD has to offer. I am a firm believer that CBD has a place in everyone’s life to help live to the best potential possible. It’s amazing that my pain is gone, I still can’t believe it and my life has changed for the better because of CBD oil.
