BRIEF INTRODUCTION ABOUT THE APPLE REVOLUTION:
THE APPLE REVOLUTION is the careful conceptual output of its CEO, KENNEDY Fai. He has always had passionate for western fruit cultivation in sub Saharan Africa to reduce the huge cost of especially apple and other fruits importation from the west thereby boosting the GDP of these various countries by creating jobs for the citizens.
THE APPLE REVOLUTION has been existing for about nine years but thanks to globalization which helped us to be known now worldwide for our enormous results in the field of apple cultivation. Special thanks to those who first ventured with the first apple trees even though they totally lacked the expertise skills to realizing excellent harvest we have been having.
Public recognition of The Apple Revolution
THE APPLE REVOLUTION was conceived in Kumbo, Bui Division, and North West Region of Cameroon. The average temperature of Kumbo varies between 19℃ to 28℃ with excellent variety of soil types.
THE APPLE REVOLUTION is aimed at planting at least 25,000 apple trees nationwide before the end of 2025. We also aim at producing juicy apples that will not only be eaten by all class but equally export to her neighboring countries in the subsequent years.
These aims will be realized through sensitization of the public through social media platforms, nursing of seedlings, analyzing natural conditions in all or most of our regions and selling our plants at subsidies cost to all who want to build sustainable wealth.The feedback in these domains has been so encouraging
OBJECTIVES:
THE APPLE REVOLUTION has among many objectives the following:
i. FIGHT CLIMATE CHANGE WITH FRUIT TREES:
According to the United Nation Emergency Declaration on climate change catastrophe consecutively for the past five years, THE APPLE REVOLUTION has decided to actively stand in the front line against this fight too. THE APPLE REVOLUTION believes fighting against the deteriorating nature of the environmental hazard is tantamount to not only saving lives but serving humanity with fresh oxygen O2. As a matter of fact, the consequences of climate change already being felt globally cannot be undermined. That is why as an objective, we have stated it severally on diverse platforms to gain the attention from institutions that are concerned even the state.
Note should be taken that, planting fruit trees in the fight against climate change will serve a multipurpose function as it serves as fodder and at the same time shelter for animates and other species that are gradually being extinct
i. CREATE JOBS:
In the domain of job creation, THE APPLE REVOLUTION intends to create a convenient business atmosphere between her individual customers and future merchandise that are already showing interest now. To have details about this point, see the analysis in the figure 1 below.
i. ADVOCATE FOR GOOD HEALTH WITH NATURAL CULTIVATED APPLES:
A say goes thus, an apple a day will keep the doctor away. Producing natural apples void of chemicals has high nutritive values for every consumer. A sick person cannot work nor defend her fatherland. Health for all is under the UN sustainable development goals. It is eminent to synergize with other nations to have this dream come true. ii. PROVIDE FOOD FOR THE COMMUNITY:
Since a hungry man will always be an angry man, the repercussions of this allegation has been recently been felt in most of developing nations where hungry/angry youths goes gaga with numerous demands that can hardly be made by their parents, relatives and governments. This objective happens to feature among the Paramount tasks of many nations who are signatories to the United Nation Organization. The absent of fruits and vegetables on our tables has plunged us in to strange disease which the world Health organization WHO is still seeking for solutions. Should THE APPLE REVOLUTION fold her hands in this domain? The answer is undoubtedly no!
ACHIEVEMENTS:
THE APPLE REVOLUTION amongst many achievements has recorded the following successes:
✓ Success in nursing apples from seeds and having them succeed,
✓ Being able to successively graft apple plant,
✓ Excellent in plant propagation,
✓ Composition of organic manure which is ideal for apple yields,
✓ Air laying,
✓ Upgraded pruning techniques,
✓ efficient soil analysis without using modern test equipments etc
THE APPLE REVOLUTION has also succeeded to distribute in her plants in about seven regions of Cameroon, anticipating for excellent feedbacks in the years to come. We have also been able to secure a potential market nationally and internationally as we counts on the powers that be for facilitation towards these great achievements. Qualitatively, THE APPLE REVOLUTION has planted at about 5000 apple trees nationwide. You are the next person to plant your own apple trees!
Apart from the above mentioned successes, we also have lots of drawbacks which are:
✓ The sociopolitical crises,
✓ Lack of modern technical facilities such as soil test machines, pruners and green house technology
✓ Lack of capital, land and efficient training institutions,
✓ Lack of fruit handling facilities such as refrigerators.
NATURAL CONDITIONS FOR APPLE CULTIVATION:
Under natural conditions favour for apple cultivation, we defile principles and breaking the myth otherwise creating what we termed economic reawakening for Africa.
On like many other plants that strive successfully in the natural environment with the following natural conditions, apple amongst others possess the following natural characteristics:
✓ Average amount of sunlight per day is 7 to 8 hours,
✓ Average temperature range is ≤45℃ which is very typical for most towns in Cameroon and African nations,
✓ Soil type is clay, sandy and loam in nature with pH levels of 6.0 to 7.0 excluding thick white clay and swampy areas,
