THE POWER OF GIVING
Have you ever met a person who was having am absolutely terrible day? It seemed like nothing could go right for them and when you gave them a smile they seemed to light up and had an attitude change. That is the art of giving.
You never know what is going on in a person’s life and you never know when a kind word or a smile could make all the difference in the world to the person receiving them.
It can work in business too. An IBO may be having a hard time getting result but don’t give up on them rather see what you can do to help them. Maybe they need to change the wording of an ad to get better results. Maybe they are posting their ads in the wrong places. Mentorship is key to building a successful business.
The person who is struggling but when shown some kindness and positive direction could become your strongest team member you just never know.
When I mentor people, I like to get to know them a little as to what they are struggling with and why they are. I also like to know what they want from their business, how much time they can commit because consistency in performance is key. If you place ads once a month of course you are going to get less results than someone who places ads once a week or once a day. People tend to compare themselves to others and unfortunately it never seems to be someone on the same playing field as they are and then they get disappointed and depressed thinking they are failing.
There is only one failure and that is the person who doesn’t try and no business is a failure it just isn’t working the way it is set up at the present time. To help a floundering person to understand those two concepts is key to taking them from where they are to where they want to be.
I am a Health/Life Coach and Small Business Mentor and the one thing I have learned about people is “how they do one thing is how they do all things”. I always knew one thing about myself and that was I overdid everything, I referred to it as having an aholic personality. It wasn’t till I learned that about myself did I understand fully why I did what I did when it came to being a workaholic.
So to become truly SUCCESSFUL, become the best mentor you can be, lead by example, and understand the issues and struggles your people are having. They may have a partner who doesn’t want them to be in business for fear they become more successful than they are for examples and won’t let them have time to work their business. You just never know what obstacles or hurdles are in their way.
Show your team members easy and simple ways to do inexpensive advertising to help them get the word out about their business. This is especially good for those who do not like sales or recruiting
