Understand losing weight and never again problems with the yo-yo effect

Most women will know: After the seemingly endless struggle with the unnecessary pounds, the lack of delicious food, the exhausting feeling of hunger and moody days, the joy of the desired weight achieved after a strenuous diet is short-lived. Because the number on the scales climbs back to the starting weight at high speed.

This phenomenon is called the yo-yo effect and can very often be observed after so-called crash diets. The cause of the rapid weight gain after the protracted weight loss can be found both in human evolution and in unfavorable eating habits:

The yo-yo effect simply explained

During a diet, the human organism has less energy available - a situation that was undesirable frequently before human civilization and could be life-threatening. In order for vital organs and biochemical processes to be preserved, the body first breaks down unnecessary energy guzzlers, especially in the form of muscle mass. Fewer muscles mean, however, that the energy metabolic rate drops, so basically less energy is needed by the body. Anyone who feasts on a diet as usual without adapting the amount of food to the new energy requirement will quickly gain weight again.

Many forms of diet - but only a weight loss principle

Even if new diet forms appear on the market every month that promise unprecedented weight loss in a few weeks or even days, almost all diets hardly differ from one another when viewed objectively. In principle, weight loss is always based on the formula of supplying the body with less energy than it needs to maintain its current mass.

Whether an energy shortage is ultimately only ensured by fruit, vegetables, carbohydrate-free food or exclusively smoothies or shakes is at least irrelevant with regard to the goal of reducing weight.

However, the selection of food and the overall eating behavior is not at all insignificant if the dream weight is to be permanent. Because all food is processed and converted in the body so that the nutrients it contains can be used. This process is called metabolism.

What is the human metabolism for?

The metabolism in the human organism is responsible for the build-up (anabolism) and breakdown (catabolism) of macromolecules and is mainly implemented by proteins (enzymes).

Avoid crash diets and lose weight sustainably

However, human metabolism is extremely versatile by nature. In practice, this means:

• A fast metabolism processes absorbed energy very quickly and prevents it from being stored in the body as an energy reserve, ie as fat.

• A slow metabolism means that ingested food cannot be processed and used effectively, so that it is created as an energy reserve in the form of fat in the body.

The fact is that every person has a different metabolism. This is mainly due to the fact that the metabolism is influenced by external factors. These include:

• Amount and type of food consumed

• Intensity and frequency of movement

• Drinking behavior

Especially during so-called crash diets, the body feels compelled to slow down the metabolism, reduce energy-consuming processes and save as much energy as possible in order to ensure its long-term survival due to very low energy intake and often one-sided nutrient absorption. The body does not know a diet due to evolution.

So it is often a logical consequence that after rapid weight loss, weight is regained just as quickly, since the return to old eating habits does not give the body time to adapt the metabolism to the new situation.

But there is a solution for this - with the distinctive name "metabolism cure", which is currently offered by the company Natura Vitalis and is marketed as IQ28 metabolism cure. Graduate sports scientist Ralf Warnatz and European Athletics Champion Rolf Kropka confirm that this is not a form of a well-known crash diet with a new name.
