HACK #1: CREATE A SIZZLING SUMMARY.
Tell your story in your summary section, but make it relatable to your prospects' pains and struggles. Let your prospect know that you've been through what they're going through and you've found a solution/answer to the problem that you want to share with them.
Use the Feel - Felt - Found method of communicating your story.
HACK #2: TURN YOUR PROFILE INTO A SALES & MARKETING MACHINE DELETE ALL "RESUME-TYPE" INFO
Putting work experience on your profile is a waste of precious space that could be used to provide your prospect with value and links to free gifts, information to help them, or products and services that can help them.
HACK #3: ENDORSE YOUR CONNECTIONS FOR THEIR SKILLS
When you endorse your connections, LinkedIn automatically sends them a message letting them know that you've endorsed them. This puts you top of mind to your connection.
I also follow-up with another message letting them know I endorsed them. In that message, I give them a link to a free gift that they can get in exchange for their email address.
