There are many advantages to using lead generation systems, but there are disadvantages too. Knowing them is helpful because it helps you determine if this is a system you want to use or not. Let's look at some of the disadvantages first.

The first disadvantage is the cost. Even though the whole process is completely automated, you will still have to buy the software, pay for the monthly fee, and pay for Webhosting. In fact, even customer service is outsourced.

Another disadvantage is time. You can't really say that it will save you time. However, if you want to run your business more efficiently, this may be something you want to consider. You can also save time by running just one channel (i.e. email marketing) instead of three (i.e. internet marketing, social media marketing, and direct mail marketing).

The third disadvantage is the disadvantages that go along with any automation. Your sales will drop off, and it will take longer to get leads. Again, since everything is automated, you may be able to make it work.

Another disadvantage is the fact that you will be limited in your ability to do phone calls. Unlike the last disadvantage, you won't be able to call to ask questions of prospects and you won't be able to call the people on your list. This is a disadvantage of using lead generation systems.

The fourth disadvantage is that your customers may become more inclined to spam. Just like the last disadvantage, this is another downside. It does happen and it happens more frequently now than it did a few years ago. You should know how to handle this.

The fifth disadvantage is that they may not find out that the product you have is a good thing. They may simply ignore your advertisement and move on. In fact, if you are doing internet marketing, it is actually possible that your competitors can steal your information.

Lastly, the cost can be expensive. The software does not come cheap. It will most likely cost you thousands of dollars a year to use this system. It's not cheap.

The sixth disadvantage is that it will take more time for your customers to get to know you. Unlike the previous two disadvantages, this is quite a substantial disadvantage. If you do not know what you are doing, your customers will leave in no time.

The seventh disadvantage is that they can waste their money. Unlike the other two disadvantages, this one does not fall under the advertising expense category. This is the final and biggest one.

The last disadvantage is that it can take a long time to generate results. It will take months before you see any results. This is definitely a disadvantage.
