Are you a direct marketer or a network marketer?

The vast majority of the people who believe they are network marketers do not understand the difference between direct marketing and network marketing. The opportunities that you are connected with are direct marketers who use a network marketing business model to move their product. It is important to understand that there is a vast difference between direct marketing and network marketing.

The majority of the people that are not as successful as they would like to be are confused about the difference between these two models. Everyone who is involved with an opportunity believes that there opportunity has the best products. There are three things that are essential to be successful in network marketing. First, you must understand the network marketing model. Second, you must have a good knowledge of your product. Thirdly, you must have the correct belief system or mindset. If you do not have a correct understanding of the network marketing model you will be doomed to have the correct belief. One of the greatest benefits of network marketing is the personal development or character development that you will learn.

If you believe it is your job to sell product and get other people to sell product your chances of success are very small. Network marketing is about sharing an opportunity and then mentoring the person you share the opportunity with to share it with someone else. It is much more about teaching than it is selling. Most companies require a minimum sales volume in order to obtain a commission. If no product is moved for the company, no one makes any money. When I came to realize that my required minimum sales volume is simply the overhead of doing business.

What makes network marketing so attractive is the low overhead of the business. If you were to open a shop to sell your products you have a large front end expense on inventory to say nothing of rent and licensing fees.

One of the challenges in network marketing is that we are all taught to be consumers and have little or no training on running a business. We are taught to treat hours for dollars. Network marketing is based far more on an agricultural model in which you plant the seed, water the seed, pull the weeds and get paid for your efforts when the plant matures. If you have ever been involved in a network marketing opportunity, how much support did you get from your up line?

I don't recruit people into my business I sponsor people in an opportunity! Thomas Edison said "opportunity is missed by people because it is dressed in overalls and looks like work." I believe in helping people work there opportunity. I only work with a few people at a time until they are experiencing success and have learned how to train the people they have share the opportunity with. Right now I have two open slots for the right people were willing to commit to at least six months of 4 to 5 hours a week. Contact me if you're interested.
